What is the Applepay secret?

Applepay has not even been used one-time yet, but the publications are already loaded with irrational cynicism.   The New York Times has a discussion that questions the impact that Applepay will have on purchasing methods from credit cards to security. Other, not so well known, publications blatantly claim that using a credit card is not that difficult, despite the fumbling that goes into getting one out of your wallet, or have you watched someone try to locate a credit card in one of those large trendy purses.  If you are a business, then you should be considering the impact of Applepay on your business, only the very naive will claim that it will not impact their business.

Of course it will impact retail stores and it may very well eliminate the proverbial cash register. Point your phone at the item, pay for it and leave with your item in your basket. Too simple, no way. It will also change the way stores stock inventory and place point of sale ads. And wait just as I was about to buy something at the ABC store, an ad was sent to my phone with a special offer on a similar good or a notification that the same item was available at the XYZ store for less money.

Applepay is an intelligent purchasing agent disguised as merely a mobile payment device.  It is a secret that is unfolding as we speak. Oh how I wish I could be the first person to buy something with it.

No way.
