GIGO is a well known word in the computer world. It means garbage in garbage out. The answer can not be better than the information the answer is based on. It makes sense that we make decisions on the best information available. The fed calls it intel.
It was a surprise to me to discover that most of the news we get on Syrian rebel activity comes from a single person based in Coventry, England.
He is not in Syria, but he claims he has people in Syria that tell him what it going on by electronic communication or by phone. According to the AP report, the news agencies rely on this person for rebel activity, kills, explosions and other related activity. Naive me, I thought we had feet on the ground in Syria verifying the intel the feds get on rebel activities. It sounds like this is not the case.
Think about it. If one person in England provided all the intel on what is happening in America, the intel accuracy would be seriously in doubt.
-GIGO government style.
