It takes age wisdom, not knowledge to recognize the special moments in life when things come together. It is a congruence of effort, circumstance and timing. I had one of these moments in Hawaii, a few years ago. One of my sons is having one now.
Everyone gets 15 minutes of fame, Andy Warhol is deemed to have said in 1968. The claim was a prediction for the future a mild reference to Marshall Mcluhan, The Medium is the Message, author. My assertion on the congruence of events that create special moments, "your time moments," will likely not be as pervasive in the literature as comments from Warhol or Mcluhan , but my assertion is, none the less, still profound.
There is a cultural reluctance to pat ourselves on the back when a series of events creates a your time moment. Self congratulations appear egotistical and when others recognize your "your time" moment's there is an equal reluctance to cast aside these acknowledgements as pandering or undue praise. If a "your time" acknowledgement comes your way, savor it slowly.
Yesterday, a series of special events over a 6 month period created a "your time"moment for one of my sons. I told him it is "your time." A combination of an extraordinary effort and success in his job, a wonderful relationship with his girl friend, a flash BMW and a special birthday celebration created a your time moment for him. I understand that all times are important and every day is special and so on, but do not kid yourself some days, some times, in your life are plainly better than others.
These are the "your time"moments. Celebrate em.
