Haiti

I am proud to be an American.

A pox on all you America haters, doubters and inveterate criticizers. Have you read the news lately? The aid that is going to Haiti is coming from the American taxpayer, that is right, you and I. The government, bless its heart, writes the check, but we pay the bill. And that is okay with me. Congratulations to Obama for acting so expeditiously.

What other nation steps up to the plate like we do? They don't. At least, they don't to the generous extent that we do. They count on us to help and we do, just like we should. It is a free America with a conscience, and we do share with the rest of the world.

Terrorists, who seek to upset our freedom, do not act from a sense of revenge, they act from a sense of envy. It has been frequently said, but so often forgot, that no one is leaving America to get into countries with terrorists, but the citizens of those countries would die to get into America. And they often do.

And I, for one, am proud of America.
