In a few weeks, the presumptive POTUS nominees will be genuine nominees. At least this change will shorten the number of words used to describe the candidates, in that, we will no longer need the word presumptive. Of course, the selection of the VPs will be the next defining step for the candidates. And although the TV commentators are betting against a two-woman democratic ticket, I am not. I am betting that Clinton will choose Warren and they will make a formidable ticket.
Both of these candidates have their political chains attached to Obama and like it or not, under their direction we may never be able to stop, or even slow down, economic globalization. And if this is the case, then America and its constitutional dream of limited government will decline the historical way of other prominent countries like England. Future academics will write that democracy, American style, was an experiment anyway. They will claim that America had its 15 minutes of fame and it is now another country's turn.
But which country will ever pick up the check and pay the bill as America has always done?
I count the days until the November elections.
