Simple notions trump complex explanations.

I was interviewed for a new digital magazine last week. The interview was video taped in front of approximately 50 members of the American Club Association, an association of business owners and managers in Kansas.

I was asked about overcoming failure, success definitions, raising start up capital, the importance of a corporate culture and whether or not daily journaling was helpful. I responded with failure is an essential ingredient of success, culture is indisputably critical to a business and journaling is not only cathartic, but deceptively helpful. Journaling works in mysterious fashion and often helps to clarify problems in wonderfully subtle ways.. By the way, you can purchase Reagan's journal for $50 at his library in California, or no doubt on Amazon. I recommend it. It is fascinating to read the matter-of-fact way he describes the issues of the presidency.

I was flattered in the way the ACA members resonated with my description of success and failure and the concept of Every Day Counts. I am reasonably sure some members now have the initials EDC now posted on their desks. I may switch my blog logos to EDC. Sometimes the simplest thing grabs the heart of the listener to the amazement of the speaker.
