The republican party does not like trump. The republican party is concerned that if Trump is elected it will be the end of the party. The republican party says that Trump is not a conservative. They say Trump can not win the general election. They even contend in some circles that the voters who flock to vote for Trump must not be republicans.
According to many writers, the republican party is scrambling around to find ways to defeat Trump. One way they believe is to have some of the fat cat donors endorse Rubio. They are pressuring Romney to endorse Rubio. They are pushing to have Jeb endorse Rubio. Jeb and Rubio have both been calling each other liars, but that does not stop the republican party from asking for an endorsement even if it lacks genuine integrity. Additionally, most prospective key endorsers are reluctant to endorse another candidate, even though they profess anonymously to be anti-trump for fear that Trump will get the nomination.
Do you see the humor in that the republican party fat cats are waiting to see how the race plays out before throwing their weight behind the winning candidate? And at that point who needs them?
Every political writer claims to speak for the republican party, but I fail to see who, what or where they are.
Will they please standup so we can see them? I surmise the republican party is a few dozen people who will not have a job if Trump is nominated.
