I agree with Trump. Apple should help the FBI examine the terrorist's phone.

I love Apple, but I believe they are wrong not to honor the court order. I am in California this week and the local papers are full of articles in support of Apple defying the courts.

The foundation argument launched by Apple and others, in support of Apple's position, is that if they help the FBI they will have to help similar demands from other countries for similar information and that it will open the door for hackers to find the path that Apple used to help the FBI. In other words, the argument is speculative. It also assumes that what ever path Apple selects to help the FBI that that path can not be changed by Apple in the next and never ending series of iOS updates and next new, never ending series of Apple iPhone models. And why should Apple not support any nation's security regardless of which country the terrorist is from?

I agree with Trump. Apple is a smart company. I believe that Apple can discover a way to help the FBI examine the Terrorist's phone without unleashing the ubiquitous domino theory.  If Trump were president he would be sitting down with the tech executives right now negotiating a way to merge the FBI, Apple and our National Security's best interests instead of flying to Cuba like Obama.

The issue deep beneath the foundation argument is Apple's legal liability. The future liability threat comes from consumer groups and invasion of privacy issues.  These are the same groups who will not be happy if the next terrorist's bomb is directed at them and could have been stopped by Apple supporting the FBI now. It is a negotiation of interest issue that a person like Trump understands.
