Will Counsel for the Eggs Please Stand?

Animal Rights enthusiasts/advocates have pressured Dunkin' Donuts to provide 10% of their eggs from cage free chickens.

Dunkin' has agreed to make this goal by 2016 and has also tentatively agreed that by the year 2022, all eggs used in breakfast sandwiches will be from cage free chickens. I am sure the chickens were all excited about the announcement and clucked away with their victory. The eggs were not consulted.

The chickens were represented by counsel for the Animal Rights group, but I am pretty sure the eggs had no legal representation.

It seems unfair to me that the eggs which truly have the most at stake were not consulted or represented. Perhaps because they give their life for these breakfast sandwiches, they are immune to the issue of whether or not the chickens are in a cage or not. I doubt if the chickens care either, but if the chickens are bothered about the cages, it would make sense they would also be bothered about the use of their descendants as sandwich material. You be the judge.
