If you are following me at all, then you know I am dissecting the department of education college scoreboard website touted by Obama as exemplary of his innovative initiatives for American education. What a joke?
The dissecting is simple. The site must have been developed for people that have computer access in the 1997 time frame, pre-Google or pre-search. No one would have developed this Scoreboard site in 2013. Certainly no one will claim it.
Since the site failed to provide the information Obama promised, I turned to my search window for help. e.g. I keyed into my browser the question-"How much does a University of Kansas graduate make?" The answer came back within one second and several sites even compared the results with several other schools.
The education department is wasting funds. This is the department that monitors and benchmarks education across America. It is pathetic. I can hardly wait for Coursera and Kahn Academy to take over. The historical monster in the way is the teacher's union, but the Internet has provided a trail that circumvents the unions.
Why do I rant? Because unbeknownst to me, there may be someone in the forest who hears the sound and acts accordingly.
