How to solve the unemployment problem, or what is Obama math?
If you read the news this morning, you may have noticed that the unemployment percentage declined to 9.5%. That is good. No, that is bad. Read on my little fine feathered friend.
The market tanked with the news. Why? The market of course has its nose in the details and it headed for the Dow Jones locker in the bottom of the sea. Both of the Jones' keep a place there. Stay with me on this. Why do the details have anything to do with the market decline? Because the details contain the explanation for the drop in unemployment percentage. However, before I explain the details, keep the following information in mind.
The total number of people unemployed continues to rise. So why you may ask does the unemployment percentage decline? Here are the details. Because if you are unemployed, but you give up looking for work, you are not counted as being unemployed. No, Mr. Webtalkwithbob, that can not be correct. You must be making this up. Sorry, but that is the way it works. The unemployment percentage only counts you as being unemployed if you are looking for work. If you are not looking for work, then you are not unemployed- according to the government statistical methodology. I call it Obama math.
Now here is my suggestion. My premise is we can not change Obama math. So what must we do, Mr. Webtalkwithbob? First, we sell everything we own. Then, we quit our job. We all start looking for work. The unemployment percentage would skyrocket maybe 20-30%, or more. The market would crash. We jump in at the low point and with the cash we raised from selling everything we owned, we buy stocks.
Then we quit looking for work. The unemployment percentage would then drop to maybe 3-4%. The market would skyrocket. We sell all our stocks at a huge profit. And then we do not have to work anymore. All the people who quit their job would be rich.
Webtalkwithbob has done it again. Here we come to save the world. Move over Mighty Mouse.
Unemployment crisis solved. The logic is compelling. I am quitting my job tomorrow. Join me as we save the economy. We must each do our part.
Follow me. We will not be going anywhere in particular, but the journey will be awesome.
Interesting and Thought Provoking proposal as always by "Mr. WebTalkWithBob" man.
