How often do you gloat?

Kathleen Sebelius resigned today. In November 2014, I predicted she would resign in February 2015. I missed it a month or so, but it happened. Why not resign? Under cover of a hyper-inflated ACA sign-ups report of 7.1 million, she ran for the hills, of Kansas, that is. I would too if I was her. She weathered a severe storm, saw a ray of daylight and made a quick exit. Her story is complete. She made the numbers.

Sebelius, as discussed in my blog, is reported to be the official that inserted the ACA language that put Obama in a headlock. I am referring to the ACA language that prevented the Insurance companies from offering their current insurance plans to people who were already happy with their current plans, which denied many Americans a less expensive insurance option they preferred. This language has been summarily deleted, from time to time, as Obama makes slight of hand adjustments to the law to accommodate people economically harmed by such language.

After the political adjustments are all made, it remains to be seen which parts of the ACA will actually remain in force. Little by little the ACA mountain has been decimated with exceptions. Remember the deal that was cut, legally binding, with the insurance companies is that if the numbers do not make economic sense, to a large extent, the government will make up the dollar difference. Be prepared to ante up.

Sebelius was a political force at past democratic conventions. I do not believe we will see her again. But I once said that about Bill Clinton, which prevents me from gloating about my forecasts all the time. Ergo, contrary to a popular cliche, you can fool most of the people all the time.
