Fool Obama and Pass the Jobs Bill.

Obama is pressing republicans to pass his jobs bill. The republicans should pass it immediately. No, I do not think it will create many new jobs. On the negative side, it will increase the debt and create another issue on how to pay for it. Both of these negative issues are minor compared to the larger issue of GOP perception and Obama’s reelection.
The jobs bill is a straw man. If it is not passed, OBama will have a crying towel that he will fill with self-righteous oratorical outrage at the lack of genuine republican consideration for a broken economy and the American worker. Even with its obvious deliberate dose of disingenuousness, come election time, Obama will sell it. I believe that Obama is secretly hoping the GOP does not pass the Jobs bill. Fool him, GOP. Pass it ASAP and send this prospective crying towel to permanent wash.

A vote for the jobs bill, at worst, helps the economy a little. It will at least give most Americans a  belief that congress is not totally disenfranchised from action. A vote for the  jobs bill, at best, will deny Obama the option of blaming the GOP for lack of partisan support and demonstrate that these stimulus packages are merely hors d'oeuvres served in the name of the main entree. Once the economy has eaten these economic appetizers, the GOP can win next November 2012 and serve the main course.
Next week, Obama will present his grand economic plan to the super committee. They have until thanksgiving to develop a partisan plan to fix the proverbial economic turkey. My analysis of the committee members is that most of them are really sacrificial lambs risking life, wool and reelection support for the ephemeral notoriety of super committee membership. The super committee will no doubt be lost in the magical melange of football games during the holiday season. No matter, because in my opinion, you can not lower your expectations enough that the results of the super committee will be meaningful.
Right now, the best part of valor is pass the jobs bill. I encourage the GOP POTUS candidates to surprise Obama, yank away his future crying towel and come out strongly in favor of it.
