I am not a billionaire. However, if billionaire Warren Buffet wants to pay more taxes, then let him. I, for one, will not stand in his way. He does not need the tax code to satisfy his scream for moral integrity. If he believes he is paying too little taxes, then let him pay more. He can afford it. A taxable income of $40 million is a reasonable podium for him to make pleas to the other billionaires to pay more. But make no mistake about it, he is not speaking for the rest of us- the non-billionaires.
Obama says, “We need a “balanced approach.” Balanced is covert code for pay more taxes. He defends government. In fact, he noted on his recent trip to rural America that the government was responsible for putting a man on the moon and that the government was responsible for the military defending this country. Granting the government attribution for these two accomplishments is a mind boggling journey into Obama's typical wonkish explanations of what the government does.
And if these accomplishments are such shining examples of our government in action, then why has he killed the organization that put a man on the moon? The next thing we know Obama will be taking credit for the actual payment of the taxes that pays his salary in the first place.
Obama pleads, rants, bullies, cajoles and preaches that citizens should send a message to Washington to stop playing games. It’s time to put country first.
I thought we sent Obama that message already.
Then, he got back into his $1.1 million black recreational vehicle and drove on to the next campaign stop. Who says he is not campaigning in Minnesota?
