Dramatized Press Interview with Huntsman

An interview between Mr. Jon Huntsman and the press  that I would like to hear.

How are you different than Romney?
I am not going to compare myself to Romney. I will answer questions about my experience and my position on issues that face America, but I will not criticize Mitt Romney. Candidly, either he or I would be  better at the presidency than Obama.

How will republicans know how to vote in the Primary?
It is my opinion that republicans are smart Americans. They can listen to me. They can listen to Romney and the other candidates. They can ask questions of each of us on the issues, but there is no reason that any republican needs to criticize the position of the other person. Americans can listen and make up their own minds without me or Romney throwing darts at each other. The adversary is not Romney. The adversary is the Obama actions of the last few years.

Isn't it true that your advisors are encouraging you to attack Romney?
Some advisors have made that suggestion, but I have rejected it. If we have learned anything from these last few weeks, it is that the American people are sick and tired of the old political ways-from both democrats and republicans. Attacking Romney is the old way, it is not my way.  I am a business person with extensive international trade experience. I have been a two term governor. I will not run a campaign based on politics as usual.

What are you running on?
I am running on my resume. Let Romney and the other candidates do the same. And let the voters determine who has the best resume. I do not think they need me to tell them mine is better than Romney's. They can make that assessment for themselves. I am going to run a new and different campaign because America needs a new and different brand of politics.

There is no need for the republican candidates to attack each other. There is no need to attack each other. Obama is a much easier target.

  1. There is no reason to attack Obama either, just point to his record, both in Congress and the Oval office.
