Lollapalooza

Want always trumps need.

By now you all know about the big Lollapalooza in Chicago. Tickets were $80. It was sold out. The recession may have hit residential home sales, but it clearly has not hit entertainment. Consumers will still buy what they "want" rather than what they "need." And this is the key to a web business in the consumer world anyway. I wonder if any of the attendees at the Lollapalooza were recently laid-off work and used their severance check to purchase one of those $80 tickets?

Think about that question when you are developing your next product. Do my customers want this product rather then do they need it? The politicians are experts in exploiting consumer weaknesses. They always promise us what we want and never deliver what we need. Whose fault is that anyway?
