Tracking time is the least important feature of the Apple iWatch, just like calling someone is the least important feature of the Apple iPhone.

I read an article this week that explained that Apple is a shinning example of what is wrong with Silicon Valley. That is right. Silicon valley is wrong at some undefinable abstract level. My response is horsefeathers. State governments sell their tax deferrals just to get a local slice of Silicon Valley.

Look around you in your home in your office and in your personal life. Apple is omnipresent helping you strip away some of the complexities in communications and social interaction and meanwhile initiating a global conversation on the importance of individual health. The iWatch will be an iconic symbol sending a message to all who see it on your wrist that you are a person interested in your own personal health. You will want to own one just to join the health crowd.

Perhaps you will become a true believer when you get a call from your physician explaining that your heart rate is a bit fast and you should come in for a checkup. Your iWatch automatically sent your physician a message to call you.

Tracking time is the least important feature of the iWatch, just like calling someone is the least important feature of the iPhone. I love the Samsung ads. I have a lot of respect for Samsung, I have several of their TVs in my home, but, but, ( it is a double but for emphasis) they would be wiser to tout the non-proprietary similarities of the Samsung products to Apple products, despite the legal wrangling, and grow the whole market rather than invest money in carving themselves a bigger slice. It is to Apple's credit that Apple focuses on growing the global pie (demand for smartphones) rather than haggling over the size of their slice. It is the high road that the great products travel.

Applepay. I make it point every time I am in a retail store to ask them if they will accept Applepay with the new iPhone. Panera said they will be Applepay ready in 6 weeks, which is just about the time I get my new 6+.
