Can you make a list of your top 50 things you need to live?

I have been researching minimalism, not the art form, but the life form.

There is not a lot written about it, but lately many of my friends talk about it. It usually starts with someone mentioning that he owns a large house, but does not go into most of the rooms. Or it starts with someone who just sold their house and had to sell or store the stuff collected from 30 years of buying stuff.

Typically,  I add to the conversation. I have unopened boxes and shelves of stuff, pictures, photo collections, trophies, mementos and other miscellaneous items in my basement that I have also accumulated. I am not, by any stretch of the imagination, a clothes-hound, but even I have coats, slacks and shirts that I haven't worn in a decade.  I have dozens of tee-shirts that occupy space in my closet with no hope of ever being worn. Some tee-shirts hang on hangars due to size restrictions, but most hang just because I have too many tee-shirts.

I live in the desert 6 months of the year with 4 outfits, two for tennis and two for everything else. It works.

I read on one blog that a genuine minimalist owns less than 50 things. I am making my list now. I am going to list my top 50 things that I must have to live. What would be on your list?

Enough said.
