The POTUS Big Ideas Are Tiny.

Guess what I watched on TV this evening?

The editors of "60 Minutes" have been reading my blog. Why? Because I suggested several months ago that the POTUS candidates need a big idea so we could tell the difference between them.

Tonight on the "60 Minutes" TV show, Obama and Romney were prepped that other presidents had big ideas, such as, going to the moon or emancipation.  The interviewers then independently asked each candidate the same question, "What was their big idea for the presidency?" Their replies illustrate the size of their idea.

Obama's big idea was to help folks put food on their table. In a country with a reported 45% obesity problem, food on the table is not a problem. Romney suggested his big idea was to restore freedom in America. Pardon me, but except for the 0.5% of Americans in prison, freedom is not a problem either. Blah Blah to both of them. I was underwhelmed by their tiny idea of a big idea. Neither Obama's nor Romney's big idea response was inspirational.

Here are a few of my past suggestions for a big idea for the POTUS candidates --
-cure cancer by the end of the decade.
-bring 10 million electronic manufacturing jobs back to America. -Create tax free manufacturing zones where companies such as Apple can build iPhones tax free. They do not need the money, but we need the jobs.
-make college education free for everyone who can make the grade, or more specifically, grant 500,000 tuition free scholarships to the college of their choice for science and engineering students.
-install a national wireless communication system that is the best in the world. We built a national highway system in the 50s and 60s that we still enjoy.

What is your big idea for one of the candidates?
