Obama's job creation ideas are trite.

Obama is talking to the wrong people about job creation. Warren Buffet is not in the job creation business. He is likely at the Aspen Institute this week. Aspen is a place where all the private Jets are parked this week delivering the corporate execs to the annual meeting of the billionaires sponsored by the Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank. Bernanke will address this crowd today or tomorrow and say virtually nothing as usual.

The real job creators of America are not there. I will tell you where they are. Fire up your Google and search under TechStars and Y-Combinator.  These new business incubators are the job engines for the future. They thrive on innovation. They invest money in new business and help them get past the regs and other obstacles to growth. I ran such and incubator myself for 6 years. We took equity in each company in exchange for assistance in hoop hurtling. It was in the early 90's and in retrospect a little before its time.

But we turned over several million dollars from ownership in 50 different companies to our partners. I still get a quarterly check from one company we helped more than 15 years ago to patent his product and eventually license it. This incubator model worked and is alive and growing in such new incubators as TechStars today.

The GOP POTUS candidates should be enlisting the founders of these new business incubators for job creation ideas. I serious doubt if the billionaires can truly contribute to this basic concept. It is hard to remember how you got where you are. These incubators are creating jobs every day. They are walking the walk.

The first GOP candidate to get the founders of these new business incubators as advisers wins. Fortunately, these founders are probably too busy creating jobs to just talk about it.
